C. Lane Prickett

General Partner

Lane Prickett is the Founder and General Partner of Prelude Strategies and Co-Founder and General Partner of Swanger & Prickett, LLP. He received his JD in 1991 and his BBA in 1982, both from The University of Texas at Austin. Lane focuses on working with high-net worth clients in the areas of corporate law, general business, and real estate law. 

Lane's unique background in corporate and real estate law, private equity, venture financing, oil and gas, and real estate development forms the backbone of Prelude Strategies. 

Lane currently serves on the board of directors for the Ending Community Homelessness Coalition (ECHO). Prior board memberships include Caritas of Austin, Umlauf Museum & Sculpture Garden, the Austin chapter of The American Cancer Society, the Community Advisory Board for Helping Hand Home, and the Seton Forum.

 

Augustus Prickett

Augustus Prickett received his Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Iberian Studies from The University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Prickett holds his Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship and Finance from SMU’s Cox School of Business. While an MBA candidate, Prickett was invited to join SMU’s PE/VC Practicum, in which MBA candidates are paired with private equity and venture capital firms, assist with due diligence and investor relations, and ultimately present their selected portfolio company to Southern Methodist University’s Venture Fund to invest.

Mr. Prickett is the founder of The Augustus Group, a real estate brokerage firm dedicated to assisting clients with both their commercial and residential needs. Prior to founding The Augustus Group, he worked with Weitzman as a Broker Associate focusing on commercial tenant/landlord representation and general brokerage; The Realm Agency focusing on residential real estate; and, B-Bach’s Development Corp. focusing on commercial development.

Mr. Prickett holds a Texas Real Estate Broker License. Additionally, Mr. Prickett speaks three languages fluently—English, Spanish, and German. Currently, he has been working on Russian and Arabic.

Prior board memberships include The Ink Club, an Austin-based charitable organization focusing on fundraising for AIDS Services of Austin.
